First-time visitors to Yreka are always impressed by two things—the town’s long and well-preserved history, and its close proximity to so many spectacular natural settings.

Our step-back-in-time downtown (Miner Street and Broadway) boasts an array of shops and restaurants, all housed in historic buildings dating back as far as 1854. Walk the surrounding streets and you’ll see dozens of unique “heritage” homes, including many beautiful Victorians. Since 1972, this original part of town has been on the National Registry of Historic Places.

Aside from a picturesque 30-acre lake and wonderful hiking trails, here you can see some original gold-rush era buildings, an old stamp mill, and various mining artifacts.
